The William G Davis Public School girls’ basketball team started thier 2017 season with no coach, which meant the season was in jeopardy of not happening. Luckily Windsor Valiants house league basketball parent Daryel Brisebois stepped up to the tasks to coach this team. Brisebois a Herman Green Griffin and William G Davis graduate has had his daughter Camryn enrolled in the Windsor Valiants house league basketball program since the spring of 2017. Since then Camryn has been a regular member of the house league program.

Brisebois who played football for the Green Griffins wanted to make sure that his first practice on Monday December 18, 2017 went well. To make sure the practice ran smoothly he recruited the help of his fellow City of Windsor colleague and Valiants U15 Head Coach Keith McShan.

So on December 18th McShan and Brisebois led the first practice for the William G Davis Dolphins inside the small but brightly lit gym. Seventeen girls in grade six through eight showed up to practice with Principal Scott Allen saying there should be more interested girls in the coming days. The girls practiced their layups, shooting, played a game of basketball geography and ended playing 2 side court scrimmages.

Before McShan left the gym he handed out mini sponge basketballs from the Ontario Basketball Association. The Valiants wish coach Brisebois and the Dolphins a great success this season. Good luck lady Dolphins!
